The new blogger has many challenges to making money consistently. This article is going to discuss 3 of the most common mistakes the newbie blogger makes and how to avoid them.
First, once a person decides to get into the blogging business, he or she needs to find a profitable niche. Blogging has a unique aspect to it. The people who are into blogging are usually very passionate about what they are writing about. This is a good thing because that passion will lead to sales over time. The new blogger has to find something that really excites them, something that they enjoy doing, something that they can really get behind. Whether it is affiliate marketing, or just some niche like playing the guitar, they need to have more than a basic knowledge about the subject. If they don't, they run the risk of having people visiting their blog only once and never returning. If you have passion about what you are blogging about, it naturally comes through in you posts.
Second, the posts need to be kept pure. By that I mean, keep to the same subject as the title of the blog. If your title is something about guitar playing, don't switch to surfing, or any thing else. If you don't adhere to the main idea of the blog, people will get the feeling that you are not sincere about your passion for the subject that you have chosen and it will be difficult to get to buy anything that you are promoting. This is probably the worst mistake most people make because most people have varied interest and it is natural to want to share that interest with your readership. I caution you, if you have this desire (to write about other subjects that interest you), just get another blog. I personally have 4 blogs and I am constantly updating all of them. Many more of them, and you will not be able to keep them updated properly.
Finally, it is very easy to become overwhelmed and quit. Blogging is fun and entertaining, not to mention very profitable over time. But here is the key; you can't expect to make money with anything unless you are committed to putting in the time needed to develop a presence on the Internet with your blog. Like anything else that has the potential to generate "quite your job" type of money, blogging takes time and effort but your efforts will be rewarded. Here is the part that you need to fully comprehend. Blogging is not an overnight type of thing. If you will focus on building a good following with you blog for 4 to 6 months, when you decide to monitize your blog (see this article), you will begin to make some sales. And then from there, you can start seeing some real results. Remember, nothing is worth doing unless it is worth doing right.
